Submissions are due by Wednesday December 3, 2025
Experienced artists will review your work for interpretation of theme, creativity and technique. We look forward to celebrating your artistry and achievement in the arts! Ohio PTA winners will be recognized at Ohio PTA's Reflections celebration during our annual Ohio PTA Convention.

  • *Each entry must be the original work of one student only.
  • *A student may submit entries in more than one category but only one entry per category
  • *Each entry must be accompanied by a completed and signed Student Entry Form.
  • *Student entries must include a title and artist statement that communicates their inspiration for the work and how it relates to this year's theme I Belong....

We will be collecting entries both electronically and physically at your student's school. If your entry is selected to advance to the state level, you must submit it according to the official Reflections guidelines, so please keep a physical copy available. After completing the form below, upload your project file using the upload field provided. Ownership remains with the entrant. Entry grants PTA permission to display, copy, reproduce, enhance, print, sublicense, publish, distribute, and create derivative works for PTA purposes. PTA is not responsible for lost or damaged entries. Submitting constitutes acceptance of all rules and conditions.

DANCE CHOREOGRAPHY

Accepted Artwork Types:
Original solo and ensemble works of all dance styles submitted
Accepted File Type: MP4, MOV, AVI
Accepted File Size: 1,000 megabyte
Accepted File Length: 5 minutes or less
Special Notes:
  • Entrant must be the screenwriter, cinametographer, editor and producer
  • PowerPoint is prohibited
  • Any music used must be credited on entry form
Accepted Artwork Types:
Animation, narrative, documentary, experimental, or media presentation

FILM PRODUCTION

Accepted File Type: MP4, MOV, AVI
Accepted File Size: 1,000 megabyte
Accepted File Length: 5 minutes or less
Special Notes:
  • Entrant must be the screenwriter, cinametographer, editor and producer
  • PowerPoint is prohibited
  • Any music used must be credited on entry form

LITERATURE

Accepted Artwork Types:
Fiction and nonfiction, prose, poetry, reflective essay, screen play and play script, narrative & short story
Accepted File Size: Single-sided print on 8.5 x 11 paper or PDF file
Accepted File Length: 2000 words or less
Special Notes:
  • Handwritten or typed
  • Use of copyrighted material is prohibited
  • Any primary language may be used as long as an interpretive English translation is attached
Accepted Artwork Types:
All music styles and combinations of instrumentation

MUSIC COMPOSITION

Accepted File Type: MP3 or WAV
Accepted File Size: 1,000 megabyte
Accepted File Length: Audio recording of 5 minutes or less
Middle/High School: PDF of notation (score / tablature) or reflective statement
Special Notes:
  • Entrant must be the composer
  • Entrant may be a/the performer
  • Use of copyrighted material is prohibited
  • If writing a reflective statement, it must be 100 words or less

PHOTOGRAPHY

Accepted Artwork Types:
Single print or digital image, multiple exposure, negative sandwich, & photogram
Accepted Print Dimension: 3x5 to 8x10 inches
Mat/Mounting Dimensions: Up to 11x14 inches
Accepted File Type: JPEG, JPG and PNG
Accepted File Size: 600x960 pixels and 300 dpi
Special Notes:
  • Entrant must be the photographer
  • Collages and photo collections are prohibited
  • Framed prints are prohibited
  • Use of copyrighted material is prohibited
  • May use digital editing techniques
Accepted Artwork Types:
Architecture, Carpentry, Ceramics, Sculpture, Digital Art/Graphics, Jewelry, Collages, Illustrations, Crafts, Diorama, Fiber Craft, PrintMaking & Paintings

VISUAL ARTS

Accepted File Size: 2D entires must be 24x30 inches or less including mat
Accepted File Type: JPEG, JPG and PNG
3D Entries: May enter 3 different photos of artwork
Special Notes:
  • 2D artworks must be mounted on sturdy material
  • Use of copyrighted material is prohibited
  • Framed works are prohibited
